Undergraduate Studies

To apply as a sophomore to undergraduate studies at LGU, you must have completed 12 years of schooling and be currently pursuing or have successfully completed one of the following qualifications:
  • • Lebanese Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate (IB), or German Abitur
  • • Two years of CEGEP (Collège d'Enseignement Général et Professionnel) from Québec, Canada
  • • Any official secondary school certificate recognized as equivalent to the Lebanese Baccalaureate
These credentials ensure you meet the academic standards required for entry into LGU's undergraduate programs.

Entry Requirements

At LGU, we prioritize your readiness for academic success. Applicants are required to demonstrate language proficiency in the language of instruction for their chosen program—English or French. You can meet this requirement by submitting standardized test scores, such as the SAT, TOEFL, or DELF, or by sitting for LGU's placement tests in the respective language. Some majors also require specialized placement tests, such as a mathematics test for Biomedical Sciences or a creativity assessment for Performing Arts. These placement tests are not used to determine admission but to assess your current level. Based on your results, you may need to take one or more remedial language (or other) courses offered during your first semesters. This ensures all students achieve the necessary language (or other) mastery to thrive in their academic journey and are set up for success in the chosen field. For applicants opting to take LGU's placement tests, the Admissions team will coordinate with you to select a suitable examination date from those listed on the website.

Additionally, certain majors have specific or recommended subject fields. Meeting these requirements can help you avoid taking remedial courses. For detailed information, refer to the Subjects Requirements section, where you'll find a comprehensive table outlining the criteria and subject requirements for each major.

As part of the admissions process, a motivation letter is requested to better understand the applicant's goals and aspirations. Some programs may also require an interview to assess the applicant's suitability and enthusiasm for their chosen field, or a proof of health and fitness particularly those in health sciences. Additionally, extracurricular achievements, such as leadership roles or volunteer work, can sometimes strengthen an application by showcasing the applicant's well-rounded profile. This is especially important for programs with limited acceptance quotas, where not all applicants are admitted, and a strong application or unique profile can make a significant difference.

Tuition and Costs

At LGU, we are committed to providing quality education at accessible tuition rates, ensuring that financial considerations don’t become a barrier to your academic success. In this section, you’ll find detailed information about tuition fees, additional costs and payment plans designed to make your journey at LGU more accessible.
