On the occasion of World Cancer Day and in line with its mission of raising awareness among community members, the Faculty of Public Health at LGU participated, for the second consecutive year, in the Cancer Awareness Village organized by Barbara Nassar Foundation at Forum de Beyrouth on February 28th and 29th, 2020.

Students from the Nutrition Department chose to discuss “Gastric Cancer” as it is the 3rd most prevalent cancer worldwide, stressing the role of nutrition in gastric cancer prevention. They used a survey to test the knowledge of participants regarding risk factors and preventing strategies. They also gave practical recommendations and nutritional tips through visual presentations about the proven link between The Mediterranean diet and the low risks of gastric cancer.
