German Cultural Week
In the presence of Sami Duesdieker, representing the German Embassy in Lebanon, Dr. Fawzi Adaimi, President of LGU Board of Trustees, as well as a number of academic staff and employees, LGU celebrated the closure of its German Cultural Week that was organized on its campus in Sahel Alma from 14 to 17 June 2011.
Throughout the week, students participated in cultural talks, made presentations about the German history and geography, the car industry, the German sports, performed folk dances including a typical German wedding, and even made their own German food and desert.
The activities ended with a word delivered by Mr. Duesdieker in which he praised the students for conveying a genuine German atmosphere, wishing LGU continuous prosperity and success.
In turn, the Vice President thanked the embassy for its active presence and the students for the effort they made, hoping further activities to be undertaken in the future. She then handed in prizes to various groups for their outstanding performance before ‘pulling down’ the symbolic Berlin Wall that was put up by students for the occasion. (photos attached)
