Oktoberfest 2011
The Lions Club at LGU organized the traditional Oktoberfest on October 7th, 2011, in collaboration with Mix FM, Listen Arabia, Crédit Libanais, Anastasia Travel, and Efes Beer. Guests of various ages and nationalities were present to enjoy the festive atmosphere and all-night-long entertainment offered by a live band and a DJ. Traditional German dishes and beer were served and many prizes were given away.
At the start of the festivities, the Managing Director for Administration and Finance, the Vice President of LGU welcomed the guests and wished them an enjoyable night. He stressed the importance of the occasion as it conveys German culture and traditions and thanked all those who helped organize the event as well as guests who have contributed to its success year after year.
Pleased with the atmosphere, the typical German and Lebanese dishes, and the thrilling music, the guests spent an unforgettable night eating, drinking, and dancing then challenged one another to the Mambo game to win valuable prizes. Many other prizes were also given away in a Tombola draw.
It was a joyful event for all and a chance to get a taste of Germany mixed with a Lebanese atmosphere. The Kunhadi Foundation was also present to raise awareness among all the youths to safe driving on their way back home. (photos attached)
