LGU'S GOT TALENT
In line with its promotion of young talents and in order to encourage its students to reveal their artistic skills, LGU organized LGU’s Got Talent on May 30 at 8:00 p.m.
The lively event was held at LGU campus in Sahel Alma and featured various talents for the occasion. It attracted not only participants to the contest but also a large number of students who were present to cheer their peers as well as various guests and a jury composed of Mrs. Alice Edde, Mrs. Graziella Seif, Mr. Michel Hourani Mr. Elie Massad, Mr. Georges Farah, and Mr. Chadi Azoury.
Fifteen groups of students of various faculties and majors competed in different fields, such as dancing, singing, acting, painting, music playing, and poetry reading. Patrick Eid and Mary Nachaf were awarded first prize for their outstanding singing performance; Vincent Matta second prize for his remarkable dancing steps; while Roula Moubarak ranked third for her unusual voice.
During the event, many entertaining activities were held. Mr. Elie Massad delivered a standup comedy piece; Mr. Chadi Azoury accompanied by Mr. Pierre Sarkis played music live at intermission; Mr. Georges Farah sang his own medley; and famous soprano singer Graziella Seif ended the event with her angelic voice. Biomedical Technologies Department Achievement
Another achievement for LGU’s Biomedical Technologies Department. Congratulations to Joseph KHATTAR and Carla ZEINE for having their paper “Implementation of a Monitoring System that Notifies Healthcare Providers of a Sudden Medical Emergency Occurring to a Driver” accepted in a book entitled “Vital Signs: an Overview”. The book is edited by Dr. Roy ABI ZEID DAOU, Head of the Biomedical Technologies Department at LGU, and Professor Josef BOERCSOK, Chairperson of the Computer Architecture and System Programming Department at Kassel University. The book is published by Nova Science Publishers.
